Ok, here is an opinion…

Anytime I have a business professional hand me their business card with an email something like:

name@gmail.com

name@yahoo.com

name@msn.com

I mentally take their ‘professionalism’ a notch or two down.  It doesn’t stop me from doing business with them (I am presently working with a mortgage specialist who has a gmail account), It just makes me feel as if they are doing business from their table at home.

Mind you, they might be doing just that.  However; today’s technology allows you to look like the ‘big guys’ easily and inexpensively, so why not do so?

It is easy to get a domain name, get your email address (something like ‘YourName@Newdomain.com’, and have a website up and running in just a couple of hours.

You can do this, and it doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg, or require a lot of technical expertise.
